My name is Dermott Hickey and I have been a lifetime
resident of Annapolis, Maryland. My photographic career began inn
1964 when I began working for Stu Whelan Studios. There I learned
my B&W processing skills from the ground up based on the knowledge provided by Stu and his mentor, M.E.Warren.
At that time B&W photography was the norm as color was just beginning
to find acceptance at the professional level. I have worked extensively
over the years with large format cameras and processing as well as medium
and 35mm formats. Over the last 45 years I have been active in wedding, portrait, commercial, maritime, legal and evidentiary photography. Over the
years I have compiled a vast assortment of images of the Annapolis and Chesapeake Bay region in both color and B&W. In the Gallery section of this site you can view and purchase a selected assortment of these images.
In the weeks and months to come new images will be added so be sure to check back from time to time. If there is a particular photograph of the area
you are looking for send me an email since chances are I have a photograph
that would be suitable.
Along with my gallery of images I also offer a Full Custom B&W Processing
& Printing service. All developing and printing is done by hand "the old fashioned way" to achieve the highest possible image quality. Fewer and
fewer labs exist these days that are capable of working with B&W properly.
